Works For Me Wednesday

What works for me? How about free music? I love music, but with a tight budget, there is no such thing as buying CDs in this house anymore. However, there are various promotions around the internet at different times for free music. Sometimes iTunes, sometimes Sony's Sonic Stage, and sometimes others. Try googling "free tune" or "free song" and the name of your favorite music site.

Another great place to get free music is MPFree.com. It's a reward program where you sign up for things and get paid in music downloads rather than points, money or gift cards. It's not a great program (they tend to send out a lot of repeat emails) and you DEFINITELY need to be sure to use a "junk mail" address, but it's worth a few minutes here and there. So far this year I've received about a dozen free songs. All songs come through Buy.com, and redemption is super-easy.

Today's tip is bought to you by WFMW and Rocks In My Dryer!

PSSSSSTTTT! Be sure to check out our Thanksgiving History Turkey Project!

  • Free is good! I'll pass this along to my teenager. Maybe this can help satisfy her jones for additional tunes for her iPod. Thanks!
