Works For Me Wednesday

Yippee, WFMW is back! I'm fairly new to blogging, but I'm loving this weekly endeavor already.

My contribution is also a frugal tip. It sounds silly, but it's how I send a drink to work each day with my husband. I pack his lunch every day unless they're planning a meal to be served at the office. Most people either pack a canned drink, or the working person grabs one out of the vending machine at work. We figured out something even cheaper. Actually, my dear hubby deserves all the credit for this one.

I keep a few of the 18 oz. peanut butter jars on hand, thoroughly washed out. DH drinks unsweetened tea these days, and each night when I pack his lunch, I just fill one jar, put a piece of plastic wrap over the mouth (I pull off a strip just a little wider than the mouth, then fold it in half.), screw on the lid, and it's good to go. The plastic wrap creates a seal in the lid so that it's not going to spill if it gets a little tipped in transport.

It probably looks a little funny when he pulls it out, but luckily DH is more concerned about function over form. They save me a lot of trouble, too, because they are SO easy to clean instead of thermos-type containers with spouts or straws to mess with.

Today's tip has been brought to you courtesy of WFMW, a weekly get-together of bloggity good tips hosted by Shannon at RocksInMyDryer:
